Acacia concinna is a climbing shrub common in warm areas of central and southern India. This thorny shrub can grow up to 5 meters in height and is part of the legume family. Its fruit from which the powder comes is in the form of a slightly flattened pod. This species is considered an invasive species in New Caledonia.
