Known to be soothing and restorative, St. John's Wort oil cures many minor ailments such as burns, joint pain or irritation. Thanks to its active ingredients, the skin regains comfort and suppleness. St. John's wort oil has been used since ancient times to treat sciatica and poisonous bites. In the Middle Ages, it was even used in white magic processes as "devil-hunting", before finding a more traditional therapeutic use in particular in solar macerations based on Olive oil. These macerations are used to treat small burns and wounds. St. John's Wort oil is particularly soothing and calming, so it is suitable for irritated and itchy skin. Appreciated by athletes for its action on painful muscles and joints, it is a particularly recommended massage oil, which takes care of the skin gently.
The botanical minute
This wild plant is adorned with pretty yellow flowers reminiscent of the sun at the summer solstice. St. John's Wort owes its name to the multitude of small translucent dots that make up its leaves and strongly resemble small holes. It is also sometimes called " Perforated St. John's Wort " or "Grass with a thousand hole".
