Desert date oil has long been used in African traditions for skin and hair care. Prized for its natural richness in fatty acids and protective active ingredients such as omega-6 and omega-9, as well as vitamins E and A, it is particularly renowned for its nourishing and softening properties.

The botanical minute
As its name suggests, the desert date palm can grow in arid environments. Its fruit resembles small dates and is edible. Widespread in the Sahel, it has long been used for both food and medicinal purposes.

Desert date palms are currently being planted by 11 African countries to form the "Great Green Wall." This green belt aims to combat drought and generate economic income for local populations. The project seeks to slow down, or even halt, desertification in the Sahel and Sahara regions of sub-Saharan Africa.
