Makeup removal, an essential step in your beauty routine

You don't wear makeup? You don't have time or you're lazy after a long day? So you don't cleanse your skin before going to bed... Ouch!

Contrary to popular belief, removing makeup isn't just for makeup enthusiasts. Makeup removal, in this case, means cleansing the skin by removing impurities caused by pollution, residue, and/or makeup present on the skin.

Even when you're not wearing makeup, your skin is exposed to pollution, impurities, and sebum buildup. It therefore needs to be cleansed to stay clean, healthy, and beautiful. We can't stress this enough: removing your makeup is an essential step for beautiful skin.
Going to bed with congested skin puts you at risk for even faster skin aging. Additionally, impurities and other debris will build up on your skin, clogging pores...and promoting the appearance of pimples, blemishes, and other unwanted little things.

Facial skin can be sensitive and must be cared for very gently. You should neither overload it with products nor neglect its care. All skin types need to be cleansed without being attacked, whether normal, combination, oily, dry, sensitive, etc. Furthermore, clean skin receives and absorbs the skincare products you apply afterwards much more effectively. So, whether you wear makeup or not, we advise you not to neglect this essential beauty routine...

Cleansing your skin with natural products is entirely possible, and it's also very simple. First, turn to vegetable oil. Some people might immediately think that oil is unsuitable for this type of cleansing because it's too greasy...

If you have combination to oily skin, you're probably thinking this isn't for you... Well, think again! Vegetable oil is very effective at this stage of makeup removal. It's a fatty substance that will easily remove impurities and makeup, even waterproof!
The fat in oil absorbs dirt, sebum, and makeup pigments more easily, but it doesn't make your skin greasy. There's no need to rub or irritate your skin to cleanse it. Oil-based makeup removal is suitable for dry, normal, combination, and oily skin. You just need to choose an oil that's right for your skin type.

Oil makeup removal

Which vegetable oil should I use to remove my makeup based on my skin type?

All vegetable oils can have a makeup removing effect, but you can choose your oil based on your skin type. For oily skin, opt for jojoba oil, which will absorb excess sebum and reduce imperfections. It doesn't leave a greasy film on the skin and will even nourish it.

Coconut oil is especially recommended for sensitive, irritable and/or dry skin, or for removing eye makeup but can be comedogenic.

Castor oil is known for its effectiveness against brown or dark spots on the face and hands. Finally, you can also blend several vegetable oils to take advantage of their different properties and create a completely personalized makeup remover oil. Why not try flaxseed oil or a dry oil like sesame oil ?

How to apply it?

Removing makeup with oil is very simple. In the evening, apply a few drops of oil in a circular motion to your face using a sponge, cotton pad, or your previously washed hands. Finish by rinsing your face with clean water.

Perfect your makeup removal with floral water

You have just cleansed your face with oil and your skin is now clean. The next step is to perfect this makeup removal with floral water .

Apply cucumber floral water to a cotton pad for a refreshing effect, chamomile floral water or even damask rose floral water . Soft with a pleasant scent, the floral water will remove the last impurities from the skin, soothe and moisturize it. All in a very gentle way.

To apply, simply use a reusable makeup remover wipe or a washable cotton pad . Finish by rinsing your face with lukewarm water or cold water for the bravest!

And there you have it! Your skin is now perfectly cleansed and moisturized, you can now continue with your skincare routine (serum, cream, oil, etc.)

Double cleansing, for perfect and quick makeup removal

Unfortunately, simply wiping your face with water isn't enough to remove all the impurities and grease from your pretty face.
Using an oil or floral water can be effective but not enough when cleansing the skin.
However, there are effective alternatives to properly carry out this key step in your makeup removal routine.

One of them is called double cleansing (layering concept).
This technique involves cleansing your skin in two stages. First, you clean away impurities and makeup using a fatty substance (such as oil or balm).

Next, we finish cleansing the skin to remove any remaining residue using a cleansing gel and/or cold-process soap. You can use the gentle cleansing gel base or make your own DIY cleansing gel.

For example, you can opt for a DIY recipe for an anti-blemish facial cleanser.

When vegetable oil meets floral water: a simple and practical combination

What is a two-phase makeup remover?

The advantages of this makeup remover?

Finally, it is respectful of your skin because it preserves its hydrolipidic film and cleanses it without attacking or drying it out.

Before each use, it is recommended to lightly shake your two-phase mixture. You can then apply it to dry skin by massaging it with your hands.
Finish by removing any excess with a washable cotton pad or reusable makeup remover wipe. You can also rinse your face with warm water and follow with a cleansing gel.

The milky oil base

What is a milky oil?

This is an oil that will both cleanse and moisturize the skin. First, the oil will remove impurities from the skin. Then, when it comes into contact with water, it becomes a cleansing milk that will cleanse the skin.

Finally, it will maintain the skin's hydration while leaving a light and silky, non-greasy finish.

Our milky oil base is composed mainly of sweet almond oil and also contains vitamin E.

Made from entirely natural ingredients, it can be used alone or mixed with vegetable oils , essential oils , active ingredients or perfume extracts .
