Who said vinegar was only for culinary use? Not us, anyway! A good old-fashioned recipe makes apple cider vinegar a star for hair care. So, imagine it combined with the benefits of lemon. Lemon vinegar has numerous properties for both skin and hair.
Purifying, lemon vinegar is ideal for oily skin with excess sebum and enlarged pores. It also evens out the complexion and gives it radiance.
For the well-being of your hair, lemon vinegar's purifying action will work on oily or sensitive scalps. It's also this property that makes it an excellent preventative treatment for lice. For the lengths, it will protect them from external aggressions and give them shine. This lemon vinegar is particularly recommended for protecting color-treated hair and preventing yellowing of blonde hair.
It can be used in your DIY hair sprays or as a vinegar rinse to tighten hair cuticles after shampooing. All of its properties come from the fact that vinegar is highly acidic (low pH), which will therefore cancel out the harmful effects of hard water. Hair will also be softer and more supple.
The botanical minute
Lemon is a citrus fruit, the fruit of the lemon tree, whose juice has a pH of 2.5. The lemon tree is a 5- to 10-meter-tall, evergreen shrub of the Rutaceae family. This ripe fruit has a peel that turns from pale green to bright yellow when exposed to cold. Its flesh is juicy, acidic, and rich in vitamin C. An essential oil is extracted from the peel, which contains, among other substances, limonene and citral.

Do not use neat. Dilute 25% vinegar in 75% water in a bowl, apply with a clean cotton ball, then rinse.
Hair use: quick recipe
As an express treatment, apply neat to the lengths, leave on for 5 minutes and rinse.
In rinsing water, dilute 50% vinegar in 50% water.

Do not use undiluted on skin. Avoid contact with and around the eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water for several minutes. Do not swallow. If swallowed, rinse mouth.
