Palmarosa is a herb species known for its aromatic uses, its name comes from its rose-like scent. It is also known as "Indian Cranesbill." It is part of the large Poaceae family, which contains at least 50 species. It is found in India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Brazil, Madagascar, and the Comoros. The leaves of this herbaceous plant are very long and sometimes reach 3 m in height. Palmarosa's flowers are very similar to those of geraniums.
