HOW WAS THE PEAU-NEUVE BLOG BORN? At first, I made little homemade treatments and masks with friends. I used grandmother's tips. My friends thought it was great and encouraged me to start my own blog about it. Eventually, I started on Instagram, sharing recipes, and then I started my own blog. I offered treatments only for the skin, hence the name “skin-new”. It's about renewing the skin by cleansing it with anti-acne treatments, for sensitive skin, etc. YOUR FIRST BEAUTY STEPS IN THE MORNING? My beauty routine is very minimalist. I always use floral water and a vegetable oil. These products allow you to follow the two essential steps of hydration (thanks to the floral water that refreshes the skin) and nutrition (using a vegetable oil that will deeply nourish the skin). For toothpaste, I often use "siwak," a piece of branch taken from the tree with cleaning properties. Drinking at least 1L of water per day is also one of my first beauty routines! THE VEGETABLE OIL YOU ALWAYS HAVE IN YOUR CUPBOARDS? I have a lot of oils in my cupboards, but currently, it's mostly hemp oil and camelina oil. These are oils suited to my sensitive skin. IF YOU WERE stranded alone on a desert island and could only take one beauty product, what would it be? Floral water and vegetable oil are two truly essential products for me. Essential oils too. It's impossible to choose... So I would say a two-phase treatment with an essential oil! It is an all-in-one product. WHAT DOES YOUR HAIR ROUTINE LOOK LIKE? I wash my hair once or twice a week. I use shampoo, conditioner, and then a detangler. Once or twice a month, I also do a treatment before shampooing: an oil bath. Then, I take a good amount of hair care base and apply it to all of my hair: roots, lengths and ends. I leave it on for at least 1 hour, sometimes longer, then I go into the shower and rinse my hair. I finish with my shampoo and conditioner. This routine is suitable for straight (like mine) to wavy hair, but you can also adapt it to curly, frizzy, or coily hair. To do this, simply apply the hair care mask base after shampooing. CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR COLLABORATION WITH WAAM COSMETICS: THE WAAAAW! COLLECTION? I've known WAAM since its inception. I was one of the first bloggers to work with the brand. I met its founder at the "Who's Next" event, and we fell in love with each other! We have a very constructive relationship. I've learned a lot working with WAAM and vice versa. It's more than just a partnership between a blogger and a brand! HOW DO YOU RECYCLE YOUR FINISHED PRODUCTS? When I finish a product, I recycle it too! For example, I reuse bottles to make my recipes and store them there. ANY ADVICE? Buy my book! Seriously, I think you should start gradually. You can replace your products with more natural alternatives. Patience is also required. When transitioning to natural skincare, there's often what's called a "rebound effect." Your skin will purge itself of various impurities and toxins from previous routines. So it takes time to adapt. In the long run, we clearly see the effects of natural products, so it's worth it. 1 GREEN ACTION TO TAKE EVERY DAY TO BE A LITTLE MORE ECOLOGICAL? Reducing your consumption helps you avoid excesses and is already being eco-friendly! Before switching all your products to natural ones, I think it's better to reduce your consumption and replace them little by little. This applies to clothing as well as other products often purchased on impulse. Shopping less often therefore helps reduce your environmental footprint. Of course, this change depends on the rate of consumption and the will of each individual.
