Challenge: 14 days for a 14th school!
The Racines d'Enfance association works in rural Africa to promote children's education. So, from November 1 to 14, 2023, WAAM wants you to take part in the construction of their 14th nursery school in West Africa, which will accommodate 100 pupils! How it works: For every WAAM purchase, a donation of €1 is made to Racines d'Enfance.
Like the 13 other schools, this kindergarten will be enclosed and comprise : 3 classrooms, a dining hall, a kitchen, an office, a storage area, sanitary facilities and a vegetable garden. 14 days to build the 14th kindergarten!
Who is Racines d'Enfance?
Since 2004, the Racines d'Enfance association has been working in rural Africa to promote children's education . Its aim is to build nursery schools with vegetable gardens to improve children's living conditions, prepare them for successful entry into elementary school, and enable mothers to free up time to develop economic activities (market gardening, handicrafts, etc.) The schools are self-managed via a management committee made up of villagers, teachers and representatives of the administrative authorities, ensuring the structures' sustainability and local civic involvement. Every year, some 1,200 children have access to pre-school education and enjoy a balanced daily meal at the 12 kindergartens in Senegal. The first nursery school in Côte d'Ivoire was inaugurated in October 2023.
