TOULOUCOUNA OIL

Soothing, Nourishing, Repairing

Wild-cultivated, Touloucouna oil, also known as carapa oil, is renowned for its soothing, nourishing and repairing properties. Extremely soothing, Touloucouna Oil is particularly suitable for skin care, especially for sensitive, dry skin.

Rich in Omega-6 and essential fatty acids, Touloucouna Oil has antioxidant and regenerating properties that perfectly address the problems of blemished skin. Touloucouna oil is also traditionally used as a body massage oil for its relaxing action and to relieve rheumatism.

Touloucouna oil is also a perfect hair care oil, nourishing, strengthening and shining hair all along its length. Its soothing properties are also ideal for uncomfortable scalps.

The botanical minute

The touloucouna tree, also known as carapa, is native to Africa and can grow up to 35m tall. It takes around 5 years for the tree to produce fruit, and one year for the capsule-like fruits to ripen. These fruits contain seeds as large as chestnuts.

Product composition

INCI: Carapa procera (Crabwood) seed oil

Origin: Senegal

Part used: Almond.

Production process: First cold pressing of seeds.

Solubility: Soluble in oil. Insoluble in water.

Texture/Scent: Yellow to amber liquid whose texture varies with temperature. This oil can change from a liquid to a semi-solid paste texture below 25°C.

PACKAGING:

100ml bottle in RPET, a 100% recycled and 100% recyclable plastic, with an aluminum twist cap to release the oil gradually.

The RPET (recycled PET) bottle is slightly greyer than conventional PET. Transparency is therefore slightly altered. As a result, the colour of our oils as seen through the packaging will be slightly different, but it is still the same product.

STORAGE

Store in a cool, dry place away from heat and light.

PRECAUTIONS

Avoid contact with the eyes. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse for several minutes, keeping the eyelids open. Do not swallow. If swallowed, rinse the mouth.

Did you know?

Carapa Procera wood is widely used in architecture by carpenters and cabinetmakers for its resistance to attack by insects, termites and other parasites. Touloucouna oil also repels lice and other insect bites, which is why it is traditionally used to protect other woods.

Little known, it was only in 2005 that Touloucouna Oil was registered in international nomenclatures.
