Niaouli is a member of the Myrtaceae family. Planted in many tropical areas, it is native to Australia and New Caledonia. This shrub grows 15 to 20 m tall. Niaouli reproduces very quickly and can grow 1 to 2 meters per year. Its leaves are dark green, and its white flowers can turn yellow. It is the leaves of the niaouli tree that are harvested to extract its essential oil.
