More and more of us are looking for healthy alternatives to the conventional products we use every day. Brushing our teeth is one of them. Organic and natural brands offer us products with better compositions, but did you know that you can make your own toothpaste with just a few ingredients?

Before starting your DIY recipes, it is important to download the recommended Hygiene Rules.

Necessary Materials

  • 1 Beige bowl
  • 1 Bamboo spoon
  • 1 Precision scale
  • 1 container for storing toothpaste or 1 silicone mould to give it the shape you want

Attributes amount for 50g

  • 3 teaspoons baking soda (18g / 36.1%)

  • 2 tablespoons SCI (12g / 24.1%)

  • 1 teaspoon white clay (6g / 12.05%)

  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (6g / 6ml / 12.05%)

  • 1 teaspoon peppermint floral water (6g / 6ml / 12.05%)

  • 40 drops peppermint essential oil (1.8g / 3.6%)

Step-by-Step

  1. Place a saucepan on the stove with a base of water for your bain-marie. Pour the SCI and coconut oil into your bowl. Place the bowl in the bain-marie. Heat gently until a paste forms.

  2. Remove from the heat and add the white clay, baking soda, peppermint floral water and essential oil in batches, stirring regularly.

  3. The result is a fairly compact paste. Pour it into a container, or into a silicone mold if you want to shape your solid toothpaste.

  4. Leave to dry at room temperature or in a cool place.

  5. Your solid toothpaste is ready.

How to use this product

To use your solid toothpaste, simply moisten your toothbrush. Then rub it gently over the solid toothpaste. You can now brush your teeth. Repeat if necessary. We recommend keeping your solid toothpaste in a clean, dry place. Solid toothpaste is healthier in terms of composition than conventional toothpaste. The latter contains many controversial ingredients. With solid toothpaste, or any other toothpaste with a cleaner composition, you can clean your teeth effectively while protecting your teeth and gums.
