Original, zero-waste gift wrapping

Newspaper

It couldn't be easier to reuse your empty WAAM mica bottle as a pretty gift wrap.
You can use it for small jewellery items (earrings, bracelets or necklaces) or as a small gift, such as a holiday souvenir, by slipping a little sand from the beach you enjoyed during your holidays into the bottle using a funnel.
Once you've placed your gift inside, all you have to do is make a little label to add a little note.

Materials required

  • Your empty WAAM mica bottle
  • Some cardboard
  • A pair of scissors
  • A ruler
  • Pencils
  • A piece of string or thin ribbon

Precautions

  • Before you start, remember to protect your work area so as not to leave glue marks or damage your table.
  • Remember to clean your empty jar or container before you start.

Stages of production

1 - Using a ruler, trace the outline of your label on your slightly thick paper.

2 - Cut along your lines.

3 - Make a small hole in your label using the tip of a pen or a spinner. You'll need this to thread the thread through.

4 - Write your note on the label.

5 - Pass the thread through the hole in your label, then wrap the thread around the top of the bottle. Then simply tie a knot.

6 - Slide your gift inside. If it's a necklace, you can attach it to the cap with a piece of masking tape, for example.

7 - Your gift is ready to give!
