5 tips to combat maskne

Tips and tricks

What is 'Maskne', a strange name, isn't it?

It's simply a contraction of the words 'mask' and 'acne'. Literally. It refers to the appearance of acne-like pimples, linked to the regular wearing of a protective mask on the face. At the moment, with the compulsory wearing of masks, many people are affected.

Today, we'd like to give you a few tips on how to make your maskne disappear.
Here are 5 TIPS to follow!

1- CHANGE MY MASK REGULARLY

For reasons of hygiene and efficiency, we recommend changing your mask every 3 to 4 hours. This also applies to fabric masks. What's more, this will prevent bacteria from entering your skin's pores and causing the appearance of pimples.

2 - IN THE MORNING, I APPLY A CREAM TO MY FACE

You may not have noticed, but the mask tends to rub against the skin. Even very light rubbing will contribute to the appearance of pimples on your face. It can also create unpleasant irritations.
To counteract this, apply a little moisturizer or aloe vera gel to your face.
If possible, avoid applying make-up to this area, as it tends to suffocate the skin and encourage the appearance of pimples.

3- AFTER A LONG DAY, I CLEANSE MY SKIN

Between pollution, sebum and everything else, pores can become clogged. When you wear a mask, all this macerates in the humidity and can lead to pimples.
Simply use a cleansing gel or soap to clean your skin at night.

4- I DEEPLY PURIFY MY SKIN TO AVOID PIMPLES

Have you heard of steam baths?

It's a very simple and economical technique for cleansing the skin.

Pour hot water into a container (be careful not to burn yourself). Next, add 2-3 drops oflemon or peppermintessential oil. Finally, stand over the container, about 60 cm away, and cover your head with a cloth, towel or tea towel.

The steam will open your pores and the essential oils will work to purify your skin deep down. It will be free of impurities.

5- PREVENTION / AVOIDING EXCESS SEBUM

If you have oily or acne-prone skin, you can use purifying plant oils. These will prevent the overproduction of sebum and reduce the appearance of pimples.Black cumin oil and neem powder are ideal for this purpose.
