Buriti, also known as the 'tree of life', is a sacred palm tree native to Amazonia. Buriti oil is used by indigenous people to protect themselves from the sun. It is fabulous for maintaining a healthy glow all year round while protecting skin and hair from external aggressors. Naturally rich in carotenoids and tocopherols, Buriti oil is ideal for preparing and prolonging your tan. The botanical minute
Buriti, or Mauritia flexuosa, is a palm whose fruit is edible. It belongs to the Arecaceae family. It can be found in northern South America and in the Amazon rainforests of Brazil and Peru. It has yellow flowers and large leaves that form a rounded crown. The fruit, which grows from December to June, is brown and covered with shiny scales. Its yellow flesh covers a hard, oval nut. Buriti can reach heights of up to 40m.
