The botanical minute
Lemon is a citrus fruit, the fruit of the lemon tree, whose juice has a pH of 2.5. The lemon tree is an evergreen shrub 5 to 10 metres high, in the Rutaceae family. This ripe fruit has a rind that turns from soft green to bright yellow when exposed to cold. The flesh is juicy, acidic, and rich in vitamin C. Essential oil is extracted from the rind, containing limonene and citral among other substances. Is lemon floral water a fruit water? Lemon floral water is a hydrosol, obtained by cutting up and distilling lemon or lemon tree leaves. Lemon juice, on the other hand, is obtained by squeezing the lemon to recover its juice.
