The Baobab is known the world over for its record longevity and distinctive shape. Known as Lalo in Wolof, baobab leaf powder is used in traditional cooking as a binder in sauces. Baobab leaves are rich in amino acids and vitamins, but it's their ability to create a jelly-like texture that sets them apart from baobab fruit. The fruit it produces is also known as monkey fruit, as many monkeys feed on the pulp of baobab fruit.
