How do we care for our children's hair?

Tips and tricks

Many rituals and preconceived ideas surround a baby's hair. It should not be cut before a certain age, or shaved off completely on the 4th day of life, or on the baby's first birthday. Some cultures even keep a lock of baby hair. It's a unique souvenir.

But whatever the nature of your baby's hair, how do you care for it? And above all, what natural products should you use? Here are our top tips for a natural hair care routine for toddlers!

What natural products should I use for my baby's hair?

What natural products should I use for my baby's hair?

To care for the hair of your little ones, it's essential to choose the products you use with care. Depending on the age and, above all, the nature of the child's hair, we prefer certain ingredients. From theageof 3, you can set up a simple routine to enhance your child's hair. Choose products with at least 95% natural ingredients.

Start with simple products:

- gentle shampoo to cleanse the scalp. Many children have sensitive, even dry scalps, so gentle shampoos are ideal because they don't irritate the skin.

- To gently detangle hair, opt for the Detangling Balm Base, a real nugget even for curly, frizzy or hard-to-tangle hair.

- And don't forget to nourish your lengths with Soin Capillaire, certified ORGANIC and ECOCERT, its composition based onAloe Vera and Shea butter for deep hydration and nutrition .

How do I care for my baby's hair?

We consider ourselves lucky when baby is born with a nice mass of hair, but it gets more complicated when it grows out and we have to take care of it. First of all, hair texture changes in the first few years of life. Generally speaking, babies' hair is very soft and rather smooth. But don't worry, their natural texture will soon make its appearance.

Once you've established your child's routine (from age 3) and chosen the right products, it's important to be regular and disciplined.

The most important thing is to involve the child in the routineand, above all, to explain all the steps involved. Children need to understand that their hair needs nutrition and hydration.

For textured hair, it's important to teach the child to love his or her hair, as textured hair requires more care and maintenance, which can make it more complicated for the child.

Wash, moisturize, nourish

You can start with a three-step routine.

WASH:

To wash your child's hair no more than twice a week, use Gentle Shampoo Base. Our neutral bases are suitable for all hair types, thanks to their composition of at least 97.7% ingredients of natural origin.

When washing, massage the scalp in circular motions to cleanse and stimulate hair growth. Good habits are learned early!

MOISTURIZE:

Moisturize hair with water-rich ingredients like Aloe Vera.

Moisturizing hair is essential. Textured hair really needs moisturizing, because the scalp's natural sebum doesn't spread out over the entire length. Note that the better moisturized the hair, the fuller and more defined the curls and frizz.

NOURISH :

Nourishment is just as important, and is achieved with vegetable oils or butters, rich in fats that also seal in moisture, retaining water inside the hair thanks to the oily film deposited on the hair fiber.

Base de Soin Capillaire, rich in Aloe Vera and Shea Butter, is ideal for nourishing hair. You can use it as a deep mask in the shower, leaving it on the lengths for 30 minutes .

After showering, moisturize hair with a few drops ofAloe Vera. Use Hair Care to style and nourish hair. Choose a plant-based oil to enhance your hair 's natural beauty.

For straight hair: Sweet Almond Oil

For curly to frizzy hair: Hemp Seed Oil

For wavy to curly hair: Broccoli Oil

For dry hair: Jojoba Oil

Detangling and styling baby's hair

Detangling and styling baby's hair

Detangling toddlers' hair

Often synonymous with screaming and crying, detangling is the "nightmare" of every parent and child. Transform this moment into a time of sharing and exchange with your child. First of all, this step can be carried out before or after washing. First, dampen hair with water, then separate into three sections (or more, depending on hair volume). Apply Detangling Balm to the lengths. Using a wide-tooth comb or your fingers, detangle section by section, starting at the bottom and working your way up, keeping one hand on the lengths to avoid pulling the hair. Leave in for a few minutes, then rinse.

It's so simple: all you need is the right gestures and the right products.

Styling baby's hair

Finding a pretty, simple hairstyle that will last all day is no easy task for children. Opt for braids, vanilles or revisited chignons, which are a real hit with little girls.

Depending on the nature of your child's hair, dampen the lengths with water and, once damp, apply a small amount of Base Soin Capillaireand gently comb through. Style as desired. For a light, natural hold, use Aloe Vera Gel.

For children, it's important to have an evening routine too, to make styling easier in the morning. To avoid tangles, create a protective hairstyle in the evening before bedtime. Your children will wake up without tangles in their hair!

Finally :

Remember, the most important thing is to pass on the love for hair to your child. Thanks to this routine, your child will love his hair and take care of it throughout his life.
