Exfoliation: the secret to beautiful skin!
There are certain beauty rituals that are essential for beautiful skin, and exfoliation is one of them. It is an essential part of any beauty routine, and with summer just around the corner, it is an essential part of your routine for a perfect tan.
Let's take a closer look at exfoliation and its various uses.
What is exfoliation?
Scrubbing or exfoliation is a mechanical action that involves cleansing the skin using circular movements to remove dead cells from its surface. It can be performed using an accessory (brush, sponge) or an exfoliating product.
The result is smoother, softer skin. Rid of dead cells, it breathes.
What type of exfoliator should I choose?
There are different types of scrub to suit different skin types, body or face, and the action required. What's important to remember is that a person with sensitive skin won't be able to use the same scrubs as someone with normal skin. For the body, exfoliants with larger or smaller grains are preferable. For the face, on the other hand, exfoliants with very fine grains should be chosen for all skin types, to avoid damaging the skin.
How do I exfoliate?
Exfoliation is a very simple beauty procedure. It is generally performed after a shower or bath. Pores are well dilated and dead cells can be removed more easily. Once you've finished washing, apply the exfoliant to damp skin, using circular movements (clockwise) to prevent the skin from slackening. There's no need to go too hard, as this could damage your skin. Rinse off after exfoliation.
For the face, it's the same principle. Exfoliate after washing your face. Use even gentler, circular movements.
How often should I exfoliate?
You can exfoliate once or twice a week, once a fortnight or once a month. You need to learn to listen to your skin and understand what it needs. Exfoliation is there to reveal its beauty.
Note that if you want to get a good tan this summer, you'll need to do it 1 or 2 times a week.
