How about making our own minty toothpaste?

Zero waste and natural, here's a gentle solid toothpaste. As well as cleaning your teeth, it will also contribute to good oral health thanks to its antibacterial action, and leave your mouth feeling fresh. You'll love using it every day!

Before starting your DIY recipes, it is important to download the recommended Hygiene Rules.

Necessary Materials

Attributes amount for 50g

  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (6g / 6ml/ 12%)

  • 2 tablespoons SCI (19.5g / 39%)

  • 2 tablespoons active calcium carbonate (18g / 36%)

  • 1 teaspoon peppermint floral water (5g / 5ml / 10%)

  • 35 drops peppermint essential oil (1.5g / 3%)

Step-by-Step

  1. Weigh and melt SCI, coconut oil and peppermint floral water in a water bath.

  2. Once the mixture is homogeneous, add the calcium carbonate active ingredient.

  3. Mix well and add peppermint essential oil.

  4. Pour the mixture into a mold. Leave in the fridge for 24 hours, then remove from the mould.

  5. Your 90gr recipe is finished.

How to use this product

Moisten your toothbrush, gently rub in your toothpaste and then brush as usual.

A closer look at the ingredients

Calcium carbonate is a 100% natural mineral active ingredient used as a thickener and mild abrasive. Its role is to gently cleanse.

Rich coconut oil is ideal for good oral health. It has many benefits and can be used by everyone, during tooth brushing or as a mouthwash.

Peppermint floral water is appreciated for its antibacterial and astringent properties.

Peppermint essential oil gives you fresh breath.

Precautions & Warnings

Use essential oils with care. Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Do not use essential oils and active ingredients pure. Follow recommended dosages. Do not use on children, pregnant or nursing women, or people sensitive to essential oils. Consult a health care practitioner if you are taking medication or for any other use. Test in the crook of the elbow 48 hours before use. Some essential oils are photosensitising: Avoid going out in the sun after applying a product containing these essential oils.
