In winter, hair of all kinds is drier. It's actually the cold outside and the warmth inside that make hair drier. As a result of this lack of moisture, hair is more fragile and sometimes brittle. That's why it's important to provide hair with daily care that nourishes, strengthens, and protects it.

Castor oil is an essential ally in this quest for stronger hair. In addition to stimulating hair growth, castor oil makes hair stronger and more beautiful.

Before starting your DIY recipes, it is important to download the recommended Hygiene Rules.

Step-by-Step

  1. Start by softening your shea butter in the microwave. Be careful not to melt it, just soften it.

  2. Add castor oil and whisk until creamy. Finally, add the nourishing hair care product and mix again.

  3. The result is a light, creamy texture. The treatment is ready.

  4. Transfer to a clean jar for storage. As the nourishing hair care is preserved, you don't need to add any preservatives to your preparation.

How to use this product

This cream is applied to the lengths and tips according to your hair's needs. The drier the hair, the more you can apply, and conversely, the less dry the hair, the less you need to apply.

Using shea butter with yuzu to prepare your cream will give you better curl definition (Healthy and Girly often recommends this). By choosing the Yuzu-free version, you can use the cream on the hair of very young children.

This castor oil hair cream can also be used as a deep conditioner, before shampooing.

Apply from roots to tips and leave on for at least 30 minutes before shampooing.

Focus on the ingredients

Shea butter is renowned for its ability to nourish and repair hair. It makes hair less dry and helps it stay moisturised for longer.

Nourishing hair care, one of your favourite treatments, is a mask, a conditioner, and a hair cream all in one. It is highly nourishing and adds suppleness and softness to your hair. In this recipe, it is used as a leave-in treatment.

You can make the recipe up to 9 times from the ingredients listed above.
