Protective, Emollient, Texturizing

Japanese vegetable wax provides textures that are both soft and emollient. It is an ideal ally to replace beeswax in your vegan recipes.

Thanks to a very low melting point, between 48 and 54 degrees C, Japanese wax allows the production of make-up, hair care or body care products.

The botanical minute

Japanese vegetable wax comes from the bark of a tree native to Asia and cultivated today in China, Japan or even in Korea. Also called a lacquer tree, it produces a very soft and particularly emollient wax.

INCI : Rhus Verniciflua Peel Cera
Origin : China
Part used : Root, bark
Method of production : Obtained by decoction. The elements are immersed in boiling water in order to extract the wax which will rise to the surface in the form of a paste. This is then collected and heated to remove all the water. Once cooled, the wax is put into pellets.
Composition : Fatty acid, glycerol ester
Solubility : Miscible in oil
Melting point : 48-54°C
Texture / odor : Pale yellow pastilles, discreet and neutral odor
