Make a stretch mark balm with vegetable oils and Japanese wax.

Pregnancy, weight gain and loss, or simply genetic predisposition can have an impact on our skin. Our skin sometimes stretches too abruptly, causing lesions that are difficult to treat - stretch marks. Here's a simple recipe for a stretch mark balm to help make them less visible if they're already there.

Necessary Materials

Attributes amount

  • 10ml baobab oil (8.5g / 18.1%)

  • 10ml rose hip oil (8g / 17.05%)

  • 10ml borage oil (8g / 17.05%)

  • 2 teaspoons shea butter (8g / 17.05%)

  • 2 teaspoons Japanese wax (8g / 17.05%)

  • 6g vegetable glycerin (12.8%)

  • 25 drops of cistus ladanifera essential oil (do not add for pregnant women) (0.45g / 0.9%)

Step-by-Step

  1. Place the saucepan on the heat with a base of water.

  2. Pour baobab, rose hip and borage oils, shea butter and Japanese wax into the bowl.

  3. Place the bowl in a bain-marie and allow all the ingredients to melt.

  4. Once the ingredients have melted, remove the bowl from the bain-marie. Add the vegetable glycerin, cistus essential oil and preservative. Whisk until you obtain a balm-like texture.

  5. Transfer your preparation into a clean container.

  6. Your stretch mark balm is ready.

How to use this product

Apply the balm daily, massaging it into areas prone to stretch marks (stomach, thighs, hips, chest, lower back and shoulders). If you are pregnant, apply the balm to your stomach and chest as soon as you know you are pregnant, but don't add essential oils to the recipe.

For existing stretch marks, the stretch mark balm will help to reduce them, especially on fair skins. It can also be used on darker skin, but the darker the skin, the harder it is to fade.

Focus on rosehip oil

Rosehip oil is one of the plant oils with the highest concentration in essential fatty acids.

This oil attenuates scars, stretch marks, wrinkles and age spots. Its emollient and soothing action nourishes even the most dehydrated skin and maintains its elasticity, thanks to a combination of omegas 3, 6, and 9 and vitamins such as E and K.

This oil's unique properties make it ideal for a wide range of uses.

All these properties combine to give Rosehip Oil its powerful virtues in delaying the first signs of skin aging so that the skin regains its vigour, elasticity, and tone.
