Greasy hair is caused by excessive sebum production by the seborrheic glands located on the scalp. The sebum settles only at the roots, giving the hair a greasy appearance. Hair that has been damaged or stripped with hair care products is often dry and can also lead to an overproduction of sebum. As a result, your hair will become greasy even faster in an attempt to remedy this dryness.
